Gibostad - a former trading centre

Gibostad is a former trading centre and many of the buildings in the harbour area are about 200 years old. As the place is very fertile and facing south it is perfect for farming, and that's why it is also the home of an agricultural school. Gibostad is the largest village on Northern Senja, located about midway between Botnhamn and Finnsnes, where the strait of Gisundet is at the narrowest. The place is absolutely worth a visit.
