Gavlen - an abandoned place

Gavlen is a very small and tiny place opposite Botnhamn just across the fjord of Stonnesbotn. The place is abandoned, but during summer several families move in to spend their summer vacation here. To visit Gavlen is like going back 50 years in time, there is no road or country store here. The place is really worth a visit just for the experience of it.

In order to visit Gavlen you must take a boat from Botnhamn, or walk across the mountain from Vang. Just ask the local people and they will help you!
